Bathey Fong

“I was shy, but look at me now. I’m an example of the good things that can happen for people with disabilities.”

Bathey Fong is an advocate who believes in empowerment. She works hard to help people have the power to speak up, have confidence, make choices and be in charge of their life.

Bathey was the previous President of the Hawaii Self-Advocacy Advisory Council (SAAC). She is a Feeling Safe, Being Safe lead trainer and has a consulting business in emergency preparedness. She currently works for the State of Hawaii at the Department of Developmental Disabilities as the Peer Mentor. She is a member of the State Council on Developmental Disabilities.

She enjoys spending time with her friend from Best Buddies Hawaii. She loves helping people in the community, surfing, going out with her friends, and spending time with family.
