Heather Diaz
Person-Centered Trainer
“How wonderful is it that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.”
~ Anne Frank
Heather has worked with people in the health and human services profession for over 20 years. Initially working as a paraprofessional for local school districts, she transitioned into the Regional Center System as a Service Coordinator, Resource Developer, and Quality Assurance Specialist. She has worked with people of all ages — from early intervention through the latter part of their lives. Heather developed many types of homes within this community to best meet the diverse needs of those transitioning from large institutions. This transition rate stemmed primarily due to the closure of the Lanterman Developmental Center. Heather then joined the provider world, overseeing The Project Team in development and renovation of prevalent new resources ranging from Day Programs to Residential Facilities. Ultimately, she embarked into her position with another provider as the State Director of Quality Improvement and Corporate Liaison. While in this position, Heather worked amongst several programs and with various regional centers in California and Nevada. More recently, she accepted the highly competitive position as Director of Community Services, again returning to the Regional Center System, where she managed and oversaw Provider Relations, Resource Development, and Clinical Teams. Heather has worked in partnership with all of California’s Regional Centers and has since shifted her career to where she feels most passionate–providing support to the neurodiverse, their circles of support, service providers, and Regional Centers on a more personal level.
