The Leadership Conference 2024 took place at San Gabriel Pomona Regional Center on Friday; August 2nd. It brought everyone together to listen to speakers, receive awards, meet vendors in the community and talk about accomplishments. My favorite part was the award ceremony. I received the award for “Community Advocate”. It was a big surprise, but I was so happy. It felt good to take pictures with the award, and share with my family.
It was nice to see the other programs, we had so many people attend. We had a scavenger hunt, where we met vendors in the community like the bank, Service Center for Independent Life, and someone to talk about housing. It was nice learning about all of the resources they offer. We ended the day with lunch, it was great to talk with everyone in my group. I can’t wait to attend next year! 🙂
