My Forever Living journey began with a statement from my eleven year old daughter, “I wish you chose to stay home with me now instead of when I was a baby.”
Sophia’s words caught me by surprise and shook my judgement. I tried to explain that her father and I decided that staying home with her as a baby was most important. We didn’t want her in a daycare and we felt the struggle to survive on one income was worth our desire to spend one on one time nurturing and loving her.
Now Sophia’s words were haunting me. A tightness in my stomach along with a mind cluttered with doubt, I was now troubled. Then, I made arrangements to stay home for a few days to take care of my mom who was recovering from a surgery. She was the caregiver for my father who had sustained a stroke and who needed care. I knew she was worried about my caring for the two of them. I just joked and said, “I feel like Charlie. You know the boy from Willie Wonka.” I had both parents in bed, unable to walk without assistance and needing my help. Yet amidst my humor, the statement rang loud again as I stood by my mother’s bedside, “I wish you were home with us.” We shared a house and my mother had experienced my time at home with Sophia. Now she asked for me, her daughter, to stay home with her.
It would be easy to say yes then and there, but my mind had to have a plan for success. I know that having a Forever Living Business means we have to have a strong “Why.” Something that will keep us focused to our goals. This “Why” was loud and clear, but how did I feel? To leave a job I loved. To struggle again financially. This had to be a decision made from the mind, the heart and the soul.
Now I sit in preparation to move forward to make Forever Living a success. The four deciding factors: the opportunity to have a business that will give me time, freedom, income and help me achieve my goals. Something I couldn’t ignore. So, what would you do? Are you living the life you want? Can this be the way to fulfill your dreams? For me, the answer is yes. I can’t contain my smile. As I write this I’m thinking of the life I will have and the joy I will see when I’m working from home. Even more, how wonderful it will be when I get to say, “Your wish is granted.”
